As one walks about at night, one might encounter objects, or arrangements of objects, sounds, and smells that might bring forth memories or memories of emotions . One’s surrounding might consequently start to revolve around it like a core and be transformed b the strange light emitted from it. The Rooftops above the foliage might start to resemble castles from memories of strange picture books and cartoons. And especially at night, when the Shadows veil and depopulate one’s vision, One might find one self walking in a imaginary place elsewhere.
Pieces of a thing, that allude to something larger, might consequently make the thing greater than it self in the minds of viewers. I guess, always allude to other nobler things when one creates art, for allusions might cast different light on a piece of artwork and transport the viewer to different places in time and space . One might carry a favorite volume of poetry and read it so as to turn whatever environment into intoxicating beauty. But one might have to have seen or felt beauty to be able to imagine or recreate it in one’s mind.
It is in my opinion that this is the sacred hallucination mentioned by Rimbaud.
